   Born in Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal, India in 1970, Sanjib Kundu is an accomplished artist and educator with a rich artistic journey.

 

    In 1995, he graduated from the Govt. College of Art & Craft, specializing in the Sculpture Department at the University of Calcutta. Later, in 1998, he pursued a Master of Visual Art course at Rabindra Bharati University, Calcutta, though he didn't complete the program due to his entry into government service.

 

    Throughout his career, Sanjib Kundu has been recognized for his artistic achievements and contributions:

- From 1992 to 1995, he actively participated in the Annual Art Exhibition at the Govt. College of Art & Craft, Calcutta.

- In 1992, he received a Certificate of Merit in Painting from the same institution.

- In 1994, he was awarded for his exceptional talent at the Govt. College of Art & Craft.

- 1995 marked a significant year for Sanjib Kundu when he received awards and scholarships from 'CALCUTTA SCULPTORS,' a prominent contemporary Sculptor group in India, recognizing his outstanding merits.

- His work was featured in a Group Art Exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts, Calcutta in 1995.

- He also participated in various national exhibitions and contests, such as the All India Annual Art Exhibitions of Birla Academy of Art & Culture in 1996 and the Annual Art Exhibition of All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society in 1997.

- In 2010, he was selected for the 10th Oita Asian Sculpture Exhibition and Contest in Japan.

- In 2013, his work was featured at the 6th All India Annual Art Exhibition at Visual Art Gallery, Habitat Center, New Delhi.

- He was selected for the 12th Oita Asian Sculpture Exhibition and Contest in Japan in 2014.

- In 2020, he participated in the 102nd All India Annual Art Exhibition by "The Art Society of India" at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai.

 

  Currently, Sanjib Kundu serves as an Art and Craft Teacher in the W.B. Government P.T.T.I., School Education Department, and SCERT in West Bengal, India. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he maintains his own studio, working with mixed media. He imparts creative ideas to the trainees students, encouraging them to explore child art, and showcases their work through exhibitions. Sanjib Kundu is also a published author, with some of his articles featured on an international journal website.
